Cyclopentane (chemical formula C5H10) is a cyclic alkane. It is a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature. It has a gasoline smell or a slightly sweet smell. It is insoluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and benzene.
